General

Will you write up a contract once we decide to work together?

Instead of writing a contract for every project, I have Terms of Service and a Privacy Policy. I find this is easier and just as effective in assuring clients. That said, we can work with a contract if you prefer, and I'm always happy to sign confidentiality agreements.

Editorial Services

What if my project has no errors?

For larger projects especially, that will rarely be the case, but if your project has no grammatical errors, ambiguities, typos, etc., I will at least have given you the assurance that it is ready to achieve its purpose.

Translation Services

Can you make translated copy sound like it's from exactly one country, such as Argentina?

My translation is aimed at a broadly Spanish-speaking audience. I can get specific within a region, aka the Caribbean versus Central or South America versus Europe, but if you need something translated for a particular country, you may be better off giving the business to someone from that exact country. However, even within countries, variations exist...

Spanish can be very, very, different at times, but in the end Spanish is understood by Spanish speakers...so, consider whether you really need to get so particular. For your project, it's possible you do, but if you're unsure and you want my input, reach out.

Can you make translated copy sound like it's from a specific English-speaking area, aka the United States (US) versus the United Kingdom (UK) versus Australia?

While I have plenty of experience with English from all over the world, my specialty is American English. I will happily make an effort to tailor translations to a particular country, but unless you're targeting a wide range of English speakers, you may be better off giving the business to someone from that region. However, even within countries, variations exist...

English can be very different at times, but in the end, English is understood by English speakers, especially when written, so consider whether you really need to get so particular. For your project, it's possible you do, but if you want my input, just reach out.

Payment

When do I pay?

I usually don't start working until receipt of payment, so payment within roughly three days to two weeks of us agreeing to work together (depending on the estimated turnaround) is ideal.

I can also accomodate 1/2 up front and 1/2 upon completion. But no documents will be returned until full payment is received, exceptions are made for return/loyal customers.

What payment methods do you accept?

Below are the usual methods, but you can ask me about paying some other way.

PayPal

You don't need to have money in your PayPal account to use it. Simply link it to your card or bank account.

Money Order or Check

For large projects within the USA with turnarounds that can accommodate mailing time, I prefer payment via check/money order over PayPal so I can avoid PayPal fees.

Venmo, Zelle & CashApp

For large and small projects, I accept payment via Venmo, Zelle, and CashApp too.

→ All payments must be made in US currency (USD).

Can I use the service if I live outside the United States?

Of course. Just know that prices are based on US currency (USD). (If paying via PayPal, a cross-border fee may apply; simply choose for me to pay it if PayPal asks.)
